NBA Trade Rumors – One of the rumors that recently surfaced involving the Los Angeles Clippers and the Boston Celtics seemed slightly far-fetched, but the two teams have now entered serious discussions.
The potential trade would include Kevin Garnett going to the Clippers, but it seems as though Paul Pierce would not be part of the deal. Instead, as part of the deal, Boston would release Doc Rivers and allow him to sign for the head coaching job in L.A.
Adrian Wojnarowski, of Yahoo, has the following:
Boston and Los Angeles are discussing a package that will send DeAndre Jordan and two first-round picks to the Celtics for Garnett and the right to hire Rivers as coach, sources said.
Garnett will waive his no-trade clause to go to the Clippers, where he’ll be reunited with Rivers. Celtics assistant Ty Lue also will likely join them in Los Angeles, sources told Yahoo! Sports.
Wojnarowski also points out that these discussions are imminent. All parties want to get a deal done within the next two days, or walk away from the negotiations. The major hurdle in the deal right now is the fact that the Clippers refuse to include Eric Bledsoe in the trade, who Boston wants.
