It’s believed that this year the top two picks of the NBA Draft are available to the highest bidder. The Cleveland Cavaliers are currently shopping the No. 1 overall pick and the Orlando Magic are fielding a number of calls from interested teams regarding their No. 2 pick in the NBA draft.

This year’s NBA draft is considered to be on the weaker side, so a number of teams looking for franchise players may choose to trade their draft picks in exchange for something more lucrative.

Even though the draft is expected to lack superstar players, it’s still a very talented draft. Many of these players will go on to have promising careers in the NBA as role players. Teams who are looking to strengthen their roster and add more depth will capitalize on this year’s draft.

The Oklahoma City Thunder currently own the No. 12 and 29 picks in the draft. They could create a package deal including other young players such as Jeremy Lamb, Reggie Jackson or Perry Jones III. I bring this up because, last year the Thunder were very interested in dealing James Harden around draft time to select rookie Bradley Beal. They may do the same thing this year to select a player like Ben McLemore.
