1986 – In a 114-97 Boston Celtics victory over the Houston Rockets in Game 6 of the NBA Finals, the Celtics won their 16th NBA championship. Both Larry Bird and Kevin McHale scored a game-high 29 points in this game and shot a combined 20-of-22 from the line. After raising their banner from 1986, the Celtics would achieve their 17th one in 2008.
