San Antonio Spurs 3 – 2 Golden State Warriors
Time: Thursday, May 16 at 10:30 P.M. ET
TV Network: ESPN
At: Oracle Arena, Oakland
After a tough loss in game 5, many expect the Warriors to succumb to the Spurs’ experience in game 6. Golden State faces elimination at home, and will look to force a game 7.
Game 5 proved to be a difficult game for the Warriors, as the team’s primary scorers struggled. Meanwhile, San Antonio were collected and showed poise. Even so, you can never count out the Warriors, as this young group has proven a couple of times in this postseason run.
Players to watch
Golden State Warriors – The Splash Brothers combined for 13 points on 6-22 shooting. Needless to say, Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry will need to play significantly better for the Warriors to have a chance.
San Antonio Spurs – Kawhi Leonard. While Tim Duncan and Tony Parker both had double-doubles in game 5, Leonard was quietly the team’s best player. He scored 17 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, shot 7-8 from the field (3-4 from 3-point range) and was excellent defensively. He will continue doing the dirty work and contributing where he can on offense in game 6.
Prediction: The Warriors will rebound off a loss and force a game 7.
