Indiana Pacers 2 – 1 New York Knicks
Time: Tuesday, May 14 at 7:00 P.M. ET
TV Network: TNT
At: Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, Ind.
Just like Oklahoma City and Chicago yesterday, the New York Knicks have their backs against the wall Tuesday evening. The Indiana Pacers hold a 2-1 advantage in the series and will be looking to employ their elite defense yet again.
In game 3, the Pacers held New York to just 71 points. Carmelo Anthony was the only Knicks player to score in double-digits, and he will need a whole lot more help from his teammates. Needless to say, heading back to New York in a 3-1 hole would put the Knicks’ playoffs in serious jeopardy.
Players to watch
Indiana Pacers - Roy Hibbert had the best playoff game of his career in game 3, scoring 24 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. It seems as though the Pacers’ defensive anchor has finally rediscovered his offense and it will be interesting to see whether Indiana will look to get Roy involved early.
New York Knicks - Amar’e Stoudemire scored 7 points and grabbed 3 rebounds in under 9 minutes of play in game 3. It was his first game in several months, and while he looked rusty, his offense off the bench could give the Knicks a lift, especially with JR Smith struggling mightily.
Prediction: Indiana Pacers are too strong at home, and the Knicks shooting woes don’t help their case. The Pacers will head to New York with a 3-1 lead.
