1972 – With a 114-100 Los Angeles Lakers victory over the New York Knicks in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, the Lakers won the championship. Bill Sharman coached this 1972 Lakers team, and it was his only NBA title. Gail Goodrich had a team-high 25 points in that game.
