Russell Westbrook Has Torn Meniscus - Will Need Surgery

According to several sources, Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder will undergo surgery to repair a meniscus tear in his right knee. There is no timetable for his return.

The injury presumably occured in game 2 of the NBA playoffs, when Patrick Beverley and Westbrook bumped knees.

This is a huge loss for the Thunder, and could mean that Westbrook will miss a huge part, if not all of the playoffs. Needless to say, this seriously jeopardizes the team’s chances to get back to the NBA finals.

Up until this point, Westbrook had been practically indestructable, having not missed a single game in his NBA career.
