2013 NBA Playoffs: Chris Paul Delivers The Dagger

NBA Playoffs — Chris Paul did it again. The “Point God” delivered when the Los Angels Clippers needed him most, sinking a tough game-winner against the Memphis Grizzlies.

After Marc Gasol tied the game on the other end, the Clippers inbounded the ball with 13.9 seconds remaining. With just over 6 seconds on the time clock, the ball found itself in the hands of CP3. He had one of the best perimeter defenders in the NBA on him, and getting a high-quality look over Tony Allen would be no walk in the park.

Allen was all over Paul, who eventually created just enough separation to get a tough floater up in the air. He banked in the shot and Staples Center exploded.

Thanks to Paul’s late-game heroics, the Clippers will now go to Memphis with a 2-0 advantage, having defended home court.

This reminded me a lot of Andre Miller’s late-game heroics
two nights prior, and shows how valuable a confident point guard can be down
the stretch. I work a lot of late nights at DISH these days, but have
been able to catch the second halves of these west coast games on the bus ride
home. I have the DISH Anywhere app that lets me stream all my live
channels and DVR straight to my iPad; I watch it all live, and it saves me time
not having to wait until I get home to start the DVR over.
