Chicago Bulls risking on Joakim Noah

Personally, I found it surprising that Noah was out there playing. We know that Tom Thibodeau is not shy of giving his best players big minutes, but Noah really should have sat out the playoff opener.

Everything was pointing towards Noah sitting this one out, but he decided to activate himself and played. Not only was he unable to be effective (4 points, 5 rebounds in over 13 minutes), but his health will remain to be in question for the rest of this series.

Noah needs to play with reckless abandon and without holding back — he simply knows no other way. Game one is not the time you want to gamble on one of your most important players, and it could come back to bite the Bulls further down the road, if Joakim is unable to heal and allow his body to get right.
