Tonight the Chicago Bulls did what no other team had managed to do for 27 straight games – they beat the Miami Heat, thus ending the second-longest winning streak in NBA history.
Twitter naturally reacted to the end of what has been one of the biggest stories for over a month now.
The 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers are popping bottles tonight. Their 33-game winning streak remains the NBA record.

27 wins in a row is an unbelievable achievement. No surprise Chicago — so tough, so committed to defense — were the ones to end it.

27 in a row is an incredible run by @MiamiHEAT – they wont pass Lakers 33 in a row record but even with this loss, they're SCARY!

I'm sorry to see The Streak end at 27. Still a great achievement. Congrats especially to LeBron who played at an MVP level for 28 straight.

Hey, 27 in a row is an incredible run. The @MiamiHEAT will still win the title with relative ease.
