More bad news for Cleveland Cavaliers fans – Dion Waiters will miss at least one week of action and might need knee surgery.
The 4th overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft injured his knee last night, and according to NBA.com received some bad news today:
The Cavs said an MRI taken Tuesday revealed a loose fragment in Waiters’ left knee. He injured his knee in the first half of Monday’s home loss to Indiana and did not return.
This comes at a time when the team’s two best players in Anderson Varejao and Kyrie Irving are already sidelined, and the Cavaliers are set to host LeBron James and the red-hot Miami Heat on Wednesday.
The injuries are certainly a concern to Cleveland fans, but since the season is all but lost, this could result in a higher lottery pick in this year’s NBA draft.
