It was a sweet return to Orlando for Dwight Howard, who dropped 39 points, 16 rebounds and got the last laugh against his former team.
Throughout the night, Howard was making a conscious effort to show the crowd that he was not bothered by the offensive signs and booing. He blew kisses to the crowd and smiled.
He also took the opportunity to trash talk some of his former fans, as you can see in the video above. During a stoppage, a fan presumably let Howard know that he/she hates him. Dwight responded with, “Even your momma? She liked me last night.”
While it is true that Howard had to sustain a lot of abuse, trash talking the fans he once played for does not seem like the most mature thing to do. Either way, it seems as though Howard is picking up that Los Angeles swagger, and cares less about what people think about him than he did before. Playing with Kobe Bryant does that to you I guess.
What do you think? Is it alright for Howard retort to the verbal abuse, or should he just have kept quiet and let his game do the talking? Let us know in the comments below.
