According to Sid Hartman of the Star Tribune, there is a legitimate possibly that this is David Kahn’s last season as president of basketball operations for the Timberwolves.

Who would replace him?

How about Flip Saunders, who coached the team for 9 ½ seasons and currently serves as a consultant?

That might not be all the former coach is in line for in Minnesota.

Timberwolves owner, Glen Taylor, confirmed on Monday that he and Saunders have discussed the Minnesota native possibly becoming a minority owner.

Saunders would join a group of prospective buyers who would come on as minority partners. The plan ultimately calls for the group to take over as majority owners, when Taylor is ready to sell his controlling stake in the franchise.

The current majority owner is adamant about keeping the organization in Minnesota. With Saunders in the mix, that seems like a safe bet.

Speaking of FLIP…my stomach just turned over the thought that David Kahn is still running the show.
