Could Tracy McGrady Return to Houston Rockets or the NBA?

Tracy McGrady’s team in the Chinese Basketball Association failed to make the playoffs, thus ending the former NBA superstar’s season overseas. The two-time scoring champion and seven-time All-Star sat courtside last night, watching his former team in Houston Rockets blowout the Dallas Mavericks.

There are no words or rumors on whether McGrady will be aiming to make a return to the NBA, but he did put up solid numbers in China. The competition was obviously not anywhere near the NBA level, but T-Mac averaged 25 points, 7.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 29 games this season.

After being one of the elite scorers in the NBA, McGrady suffered through a lot of injuries which slowed down his career. Last season, McGrady played a reduced role off the bench for the Atlanta Hawks, providing a veteran presence and some scoring.

Even at 33 years of age, McGrady could still fill out a roster on an NBA team, and we will have to wait and see whether he wants to make a return. He has until the end of the regular season to sign for a team.
