Kenneth Faried was the star of the show last night, winning the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge MVP, after scoring a career-high 40 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
After the game, Faried said that not only had he never scored 40 points in a game, but this was his first time breaking the 30 point threshold. As we all know, this type of events don’t feature much defense, which allowed Faried to have an impressive 18-22 shooting night.
Team Chuck once again took down Team Shaq, and you can bet that Charles Barkley will be letting Shaquille O’Neal hear about this win for weeks to come.
Other than Faried, the Cleveland Cavaliers were represented very well in the game. Last year’s MVP Kyrie Irving scored 32 points and added 6 assists and 6 rebounds. Tristan Thompson recorded a 20-10 double-double, Dion Waiters scored 23 points on 11-12 shooting while Tyler Zeller had a modest 4 points and 4 rebounds.
