The Brooklyn Nets were interested in trading for Josh Smith or Ben Gordon, but those potential deals seem to be in peril, according to Mitch Lawrence of the NY Daily News.
Smith is one of the top players on the trading block because he wants a max-salary contract. According to multiple sources, the Nets offered a package that included Kris Humphries and MarShon Brooks, but Atlanta wanted more in return.
Even though Gordon averages 12.7 points per game, Brookyln believes the 6-3 guard could be a liability on the defensive end.
Various reports have surfaced that Nets general manager Billy King is looking to land a big man, and they are “focusing their attention” on Utah’s Paul Millsap, Lawrence reports.
The Jazz and Nets have been trade partners in the past, but could Millsap really be in a Brooklyn uniform before the NBA trade deadline?
