Josh Smith has been targeted by a lot of trade rumors, which recently gained momentum as Smith served a 1-game suspension due to conduct detrimental to team.
Smith is headed into free agency this summer and according to Chris Broussard, of ESPN, Hawks’ GM Danny Ferry will meet with Smith some time this week:

Smith recently claimed that he believes himself to be a max-contract player. The Hawks will have a lot of cap space this summer, giving the team the ability to sign more than one superstar for the max. It remains to be seen whether the organization concurs with Smith’s assessment of himself. The last thing the Hawks want at this point is to overpay a player, like they did when signing Joe Johnson to a long-term deal.
Trading Smith remains a possibility, as the Hawks have recently lost Lou Williams to a torn ACL and will struggle to make much noise in the playoffs.
