Fact: Ricky Rubio is a damn good passer.
His vision, skill, and knowledge of the game allow him to make passes others simply wouldn’t see, or even try. And while he’s struggled since his return from a torn ACL, Rubio showed Wednesday night that some things don’t change.
Just under halfway through the 3rd quarter, Rubio received a pass on the right wing. As Deron Williams of the Nets came out to guard him, Rubio rifled a bounce pass between an unsuspecting Williams’ legs. The pass found Derrick Williams, who finished the play off with an and-one reverse layup.
Unfortunately for the Timberwolves, Rubio’s passing wasn’t enough. Minnesota continued to struggle without Kevin Love, as the Nets handed them their 7th loss in 8 games, 91-83.
