This morning Miami Heat owner Micky Arison announced that the team has signed former Denver Nugget Chris Andersen to a 10-day contract.
Andersen worked out with the Heat earlier this season, and with the lingering rebounding issues the Heat have decided to give “Birdman” a chance.
According to Heat reporter, Ira Winderman, Andersen is excited about another shot at NBA basketball:
“It’s a great fit for me,” Andersen said of being called in to provide rebounding and defense. “It’s what I do.
“It’s been nine months since I’ve been on the floor,” he said. “I’m just overwhelmed to be here. They’re taking a chance with me and I’m here to give them everything I’ve got.” – Chris Andersen
We will have to wait and see if Andersen can crack the rotation, as well as help the team resolve the rebounding problem.
