The Los Angeles Lakers have struggled mightily to start the season despite massive expectations after an offseason full of superstar acquistions.
Although they stand at 15-20 and 11th in the Western Conference standings after firing head coach Mike Brown, exec. Jim Buss thinks the Lakers have a great shot at retaining superstar center, Dwight Howard.
In an interview with ESPNLA 710 Buss had this to say:
“I’m still excited about this team,” said Jim Buss. “Injuries have played such a huge part. I’m not frustrated at the players at all.”
Buss is confident that the Lakers will retain Howard in the offseason.
“95 percent, we’ll be able to keep him,” said Buss.
You’d think this would be an insane guess given Howard’s reluctance to stay through a rebuild in Orlando, but maybe Los Angeles turns things around and he becomes franchise player they want him to be. Or maybe he bolts and every NBA team pushes to get him this summer.
