Kevin Love, who broke his hand for the second time this season against the Denver Nuggets last week, will require surgery.
The All-Star forward will be forced to miss 8 to 10 weeks of action.
Love should still see some regular season action this season, but with him being ruled out for several months it is hard to see Minnesota making the playoffs.
Love returned early from his previous injury, and led the team in scoring and rebounding, despite shooting a poor 35% from the field.
Love’s injury is one of the many setbacks for the playoff aspiring Wolves.
