According to Dallas Mavericks reporter Earl K. Sneed, Dirk Nowitzki will be making his starting lineup debut tonight:

After missing the first 27 games of the season, Nowitzki returned to the Mavs lineup before Christmas, coming off the bench in limited minutes.

Nowitzki’s return didn’t seem to give Dallas any kind of a spark, as the team is 1-5 with the German foward in the lineup this year.

Nowizki played a season-high 29 minutes and scored 19 points in an overtime loss to Miami on Wednesday. He sent the game to overtime by hitting the game-tying jumper, but the Mavs ran out of gas after that, conceding to the NBA champions 109-119.

It is still unclear how many minutes the versatile 7-footer will be able to shoulder at this point, but his return to the starting lineup indicates that he is feeling more comfortable on the court.
