The mood in Hollywood is quickly shifting towards the better, as the Los Angeles Lakers hit 0.500 by beating the New York Knicks on Christmas day.
Only a couple of weeks ago the Lakers were in a very dark place. With Nash and Blake being sidelined, it was rumored that the Lakers were contemplating the notion of exploring the free agent market, in order to find a solution to their imminent problems.
However, the Lakers decided to remain poised and wait for Gasol and Nash to return. It seems as though that decision might have been the right one, as the Lakers are on a 5-game winning streak, beating the Warriors and the Knicks since Steve Nash returned to the court.
Lakers aren't interested in opening a roster spot to acquire Derek Fisher, Kenyon Martin or any other free agent, a source told Y! Sports.

According to the tweet by Marc J. Spears, of Yahoo Sports, the Lakers seem inclined towards riding this recent wave of success and are not interested in changing anything at the moment.
It seems like the Lakers are slowly figuring things out and moving in the right direction, but we know how quickly things can change in Los Angeles, so don’t be surprised if Pau Gasol’s name is in the hottest trade rumors if the Lakers go cold again.
