The DeMarcus Cousins saga continues, as the Sacramento Kings announced via Twitter that he did not travel with the team to Portland today.

Cousins, who had been suspended “indefinitely” for his actions towards head coach Keith Smart, was just reinstated to the team two days ago.

No explanation other than “coach’s decision” has been given for why Cousins didn’t travel with the team. But whatever the reason may be, the situation in Sacramento is clearly not getting any better.

With trade speculation growing by the day, Cousins’ days in Sacramento may be numbered. It certainly appears that the coaching staff and front office are growing tired of the talented, but immature big man’s behavior.

Whether he needs a change of scenery or just a few more years to grow up remains to be seen.

Hopefully for the sake of Cousins, and everyone who enjoys watching him play, the big man can figure things out and find his place in the league. He is immensely talented, and it would be a shame to see his gift go to waste.
