Steve Nash Targeting Christmas Day Return

After appearing in just two games thus far in the 2012-13 NBA regular season, the 16-year veteran, Steve Nash is preparing a return to the Los Angeles Lakers starting unit.

Nash suffered a lower leg contusion in the Lakers’ second game of the season, spiraling the franchise into desperation mode by firing their head coach, bringing in former coach Mike D’Antoni and questioning Pau Gasol’s fit with the team.

While his return won’t fix all the problems with the Lakers, it would surely lift a team without a true identity who is trying to fit into D’Antoni’s all offense, minimum defense mentality.

The Lakers are 12-14 on the season and could look to trade Gasol if Nash’s return doesn’t give the spark to the team he’s expected to give.
