The struggling Los Angeles Lakers are still looking for answers under head coach Mike D’Antoni, but reinforcements may be coming sooner than expected.
Pau Gasol will miss his eighth game tonight versus the 76ers, but according to Mike Bresnahan of the LA Times, the four-time All-Star has announced the timetable for his return from knee tendinitis,
Gasol believes he is probable to return on Dec. 22 against the Golden State Warriors.
“I’m feeling better,” Gasol said on Friday. “We don’t want to risk going back to the way it was before. We’re taking it one step at a time so we won’t have any setbacks and I won’t have to be out any longer than I need to.
“There’s no ‘definites’ right now.”
The Lakers (10-14) just ended their four-game losing streak against Washington, beating the Wizards 102-96.
When Gasol returns to the Lakers’ lineup, will he make an immediate impact, or will the team continue to struggle and be forced to make a change?
