1983 – The Detroit Pistons defeated the Denver Nuggets, 186-184, in the highest scoring game in NBA history. The game lasted three overtimes and included four players who scored at least 40 points each: Kiki Vandeweghe-51 and Alex English-47 for the Nuggets in addition to Isiah Thomas (@iamisiahthomas)-47 and John Long-41 for the Pistons. There were 9,655 fans in attendance at McNichols Sports Arena in Denver as both teams left this game with an 11-12 record.
