1991 – Happy 21st birthday to Cleveland Cavaliers guard Dion Waiters (@dionwaiters3). An ankle sprain has kept him out the Cavaliers’ last few games, but he is averaging the second most points (15.2) and three-pointers made (1.9) per game for any rookie in 2012-13.

2008 – As a member of the Denver Nuggets, Carmelo Anthony (@carmeloanthony) tied George Gervin’s NBA record with 33 points in a single quarter. During the Nuggets’ 116-105 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, Anthony scored 33 points in the third quarter. After the game, he said, “I’ve never been a part of a quarter like that before. I just felt that good. I can’t explain it.”
