Chauncey Billups made a surprising return to the Los Angeles Clippers starting lineup on Nov. 28, after recovering from his torn achilles injury, which had him sidelined for nearly 10 months.

After starting in 3 straight games, Billups did not dress for the Dallas Mavericks game on Wednesday, due to another foot injury.

According to reports, Billups has an inflamed tendon in his foot, which is unrelated to his achilles injury. There is no timetable for Billups’ return, but he is expected to miss at least a week. Vinny Del Negro assured that the team won’t rush Billups back, but as soon as he is ready he is going to be on the floor.

Billups said:

“It’s frustrating, of course, working that hard to come back and have to kind of sit back and wait,”

“I know what it is. I respect the process and I’m not down at all. Of course, I want to be out there, but it is what it is. I know it’s all about the marathon for me.” -
