According to 1500ESPN contributor, Darren Wolfson (@DarrenWolfson), Ricky Rubio has told the Wolves that he is ready to get back into action.
Wolfson says that Rubio is angling to play in tonight’s game against Cleveland, but the final call will be made by coaches and medical staff.
The timetable for Rubio’s return was initially mid-December, but it seems like the promising point guard is eager to play and ready to go.
While there is a chance we might see Rubio play tonight, it wouldn’t be surprising if the coaching staff decided to give him another week of practice. Rubio has participated in full-contact team practice for a little over a week now.
Rubio tore his ACL and LCL last March against the Lakers.
Before picking up the injury Rubio averaged 10.6 points, 8.2 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game.
UPDATE: According to @Twolves_PR Rubio will not play tonight. He is likely to make his season debut somewhere between Dec 12-15.
