Dwight Howard isn’t exactly regarded as a sharpshooter by NBA standards, so it might be slightly surprising that he knocked down the dagger 3 against the Denver Nuggets last night. Alright, maybe it wasn’t a dagger, but it sure was an amusing moment. You can watch the 3-pointer and the post-game interview with Howard here.

Prior to sinking the sensational corner three, Howard was 1-33 in his career from 3-point land.

In the post-game interview, Howard jokingly claimed that the corner three is his new sweet spot, saying: “If you need a three – give it to me”.

He was clearly ecstatic about knocking down his first 3-pointer since the 06-07 season, as he celebrated all the way into the locker room.

While it was a funny sequence, let’s hope for the sake of the Lakers Howard doesn’t continue jacking up 3-pointers.

It was clearly Howard’s night yesterday, as he put up a monster game with 28 points and 20 boards.

Antawn Jamison also had a statement game, coming off the bench for 33 points and 12 rebounds, going 5-10 from 3-point land.

The Lakers are now 8-8 after the 122-103 victory over Nuggets.
