Ricky Rubio cleared for practice
On March 9, 2012, Ricky Rubio’s impressive rookie season came to an abrupt end. In a loss against the Los Angeles Lakers, the Spanish floor leader tore his ACL after colliding with Kobe Bryant.
According to reports, Rubio got final clearance to practice with the Timberwolves, after a visit to the doctor’s this Wednesday. He is expected to start practicing with the team this weekend. Rubio was initially expected to return no earlier than mid-December, but there is currently no active timetable for his return. Even so, this is terrific news for all Minnesota fans, who can’t wait to see their up-and-coming point-guard back in action.
Kevin Love recently returned to Minnesota’s lineup, following a broken hand injury. Minnesota are 6-7 this season.
Steve Nash out at least another week
Steve Nash suffered a leg injury in the second game of the season, and was diagnosed with a fractured fibula. According to reports, Nash has participated in some agility drills, but is still feeling discomfort and pain in his leg. The medical staff continue to monitor him, and an MRI exam will most likely give a better indication of his progress.
He said himself that he would be out for at least another week. The Lakers’ staff are not rushing him back, as the most important thing is Nash’s long term health and durability.
It has been a disappointing season so far for the Lakers, as the team that landed Dwight Howard and Steve Nash in the off-season, are 7-8. However, it seems like Nash is on his way back and the Lakers are hoping that the return of their floor general will solve some of their problems.
