Dwight Howard expected to make his debut Sunday against Sacramento Kings

Road to victory?

After two big signings in the summer, Lakers fans’ expectations are so high. They are expecting no less than a championship from their team this season. On paper, the Lakers have the most effective team in the NBA but there are some question marks about the team for the future? In preseason games, the Lakers lost 5 games in a row and they are still seeking for a win. The bench is not enough for the long season run and playoffs. Depth of the bench will be the biggest question mark for the Lakers. Antawn Jamison is the only valuable asset on the bench. Backup point guard is an ongoing issue. Steve Blake and Chris Duhon cannot be called champion-caliber team backup point guards. Kobe and Nash are getting older and you cannot expect them to play more than 35 minutes per game during the regular season. Besides the roster problems, their coach is Mike Brown. I am not sure about Mike Brown handling this All-Star roster for the upcoming season. As a Steve Nash fan, It is so obvious that in preseason games he is only playing at 20 percent. When the season starts we will see the real Nash as always.

Howard back from injury

According to Yahoo! Sports, Lakers sources said that Howard is going to practice with team on Saturday and will be ready for his debut with the Lakers tonight vs. the Sacramento Kings. Howard is the NBA`s best center right now and the addition of him tonight will change plenty of things for the Lakers. In the last five games the Lakers defense was not ready and seemed like it was missing a huge piece. Howard will help the defense to prevent easy shots in the paint. He will help the team on offense by taking the attention of the opponents’ defense. Dwight Howard is known as a good passer so this will help Kobe and Nash to find easy shots too.
