2K Sports releases player ratings early

What a neat promotion 2K Sports is running.

The highly anticipated basketball video game NBA 2K13, which will feature the likes of the 1992 Dream Team, will be released on October 2 in North America. To get fans excited for the game, the 2K Sports Twitter account is offering looks at the ratings of three new players with every 1,000 new followers that they reach. They started the promotion by releasing the ratings of three players at 280,000 followers and are now currently sitting at just over 284,000. That means that 15 ratings have already been revealed, and one of them is a Cleveland Cavalier.

In the third wave of releases, 2K Sports gave No. 4 pick and former Syracuse basketball player Dion Waiters a rating of 71. Judging by the rookie’s Twitter feed, it doesn’t appear that he has found out yet, but knowing that he is the lowest rated player so far will only put more fuel in his tank to prove video game enthusiasts wrong.

Make sure you follow @2KSports so they can keep hitting that 1,000-follower milestone and releasing more player ratings. Will there be another Cavalier to have his player rating announced soon? Only you can help that.

Just incased you missed the other players that were released, here they are in order of what day they were announced:

August 27 — Kobe Bryant (93), Carmelo Anthony (92) and Rajon Rondo (90)

August 28 — Scottie Pippen (92), Kevin Love (89), Anthony Davis (80), Monta Ellis (86), Dion Waiters (71) and Andre Iguodala (87)
