Abdul-Jabbar Statue Being Built By Los Angeles Lakers

First MJ, now Kareem. Two of the NBA’s greatest players, they both however have two blaring things in common. What are those things? Well, for starters they’re two of not to many past or present NBA superstars that are referred to by their first, or just one name. Now? They will have a statue of themselves in front of their former franchises.

Of course, MJ has his nestled beside the United Center in Chicago. The curiosity now comes where Kareem gets his. Rumor has it that the Lakers will soon announce the official unveiling date.

No one quite knows the details of what the statue may look like.

Since he’s the NBA’s all-time leading scorer and had immense success playing for the league’s second most (regarding championships) successful franchise. Not too bad, eh? Given that this thing is being built with today’s era of technology, expect a rather … bedazzled and fresh? … statue.

Kareem’s statue is well deserved, and probably a little delayed … but, nonetheless, Abdul-Jabbar won numerous awards in his twenty year career.
