Overcoming another slow start, Team USA dominated an overmatched Tunisia squad, beating the Tunisians 110-63 in Group A action. Much like against France, the Americans started out slow, and only led by thirteen at the midway point. Team USA also started out an awful 1 of 10 from three point range, a bad statistic for a team with Tyson Chandler as it’s one true center.
The second half was a completely different game. Led by Kevin Love, Anthony Davis, and Andre Iguodala, the Americans opened up the second half with a scorching 21-3 run, and never really looked back. Davis got an absurd three alley-oop dunks in under four minutes, and Carmelo Anthony also chipped in sixteen. The game ended with Team USA winning by forty-points, unquestionably dominating but not quite the fifty-five points they were expected to win by. The one downside for Team USA was Love’s apparent knee injury. He came off the court, was checked out by staff, but appeared to be fine after icing his knee.
