According to reports, the Cavs will meet with forward C.J. Miles for two days to discuss a contract. The 25-year-old played for the Utah Jazz last season, averaging 9.1 points per game.
Miles is an unrestricted free agent, meaning that he can sign with any team at any time. Assuming that he leaves Utah, Miles new home will be the first time that he hasn’t played for Utah in seven year NBA career.
At 6’6, Miles would be able to play small forward for the Cavs. What this potential move could mean for Alonzo Gee is unclear. The Cavs have offered him a two-year deal, but he wasn’t all that happy with it. If Miles is signed, expect Gee’s days as a Cavalier to come to an end. There is no need for the Cavs to have two 6’6 small forwards with similar skill sets on the same team.
