According to reports, Cavs restricted free agent small forward Alonzo Gee isn’t too happy with the Cavs recent offer, and is considering not participating in the Cavs summer league later on this month.
This from waitingfornextyear.com:
“Fox 8′s John Telich reported on Tuesday evening that Gee is “underwhelmed” by the team’s offer — one that he has yet to sign — and is considering not participating in the team’s Summer League program which is set to tip of in Las Vegas later this month.”
Gee, who averaged 10.6 points per game last season, has received interest from the Phoenix Suns amongst other teams. As the Cavs move forward with their rebuilding, Gee will be ultra-valuable as on off the bench scorer, and also as a starter when needed. If Chris Grant is to be believed, then Gee is a priority, and thus expect Gee in a Cavs uniform next season, no matter how disgruntled he may be. If not, then the Cavs will have as bigger hole at small forward then originally expected.
