The Celtics were scolding hot en route to a huge road win built upon their 60% shooting performance from both the field and from three.
Miami didn’t play at all badly, but were just unable to survive the shooting onslaught offered by Boston, who were finding good looks everywhere as Rondo took full control of the game.
Garnett had 24 points on 11/14 shooting, Pierce had 27 and Rondo tallied 18 points and 15 assists.
For Miami the only standout was LeBron James who had a game high 36 points, with 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Mario Chalmers was the James’ best supporter, notching up 18 points in what has been a hugely productive fortnight for the former Jayhawk.
Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh yet again let down Miami in a big game, largely vanishing throughout the second half, giving away costly technicals and shooting a combined 14/34 from the field.
It was only Miami’s fourth home loss this season as they continue to move toward the playoffs unconvincingly.
