Recently acquired Cleveland Cavaliers rookie guard Donald Sloan scored his first points in Wine and Gold in the Monday night victory over the New Jersey Nets.
Sloan, who had seen minimal playing time on Sunday against the Atlanta Hawks, has talked about how grateful he is to have another chance at playing basketball in the NBA. Sloan played a combined eight games with the Hawks and New Orleans Hornets this season.
The 24-year-old guard out of Texas A&M scored 11 points on 4-6 shooting from the field. He also collected three rebounds.
Sloan hopes that his determination will help his performance on the court, as the rookie has already spent his first NBA season with three different teams. The way that Sloan walked on the court tonight (he played for almost 20 minutes) and his impact in the game against the Hawks (he played for a littler over one minute in his Cavalier debut) truly show that he is capable of making an impact in the NBA early in his career.
