Miami Heat Rout Hapless Washington Wizards 106-89 On The Back of 26 From Dwyane Wade

Miami started strong and carried the momentum throughout as they crushed the Wizards in the second of their six game road trip.

The Wizards have, surprisingly, been one of the worst teams in the NBA this season. I say surprisingly because they have one of the most talented young cores in the game and I expected John Wall to look to assert himself as a star in the league this season. So far we have seen nothing of the potential Wall nor the Wizards show.

The Heat again performed well below a level they should expect, luckily for them it was against a team that would not punish them.

Dwyane Wade led all scorers with 26 points. Chris Bosh added 24.

It was another mediocre night for LeBron James, who struggled for the most part with his shot, finishing with just 16 points but adding 9 assists.

The most baffling statistic of the night were the rebounds, with Washington pulling down an incredible 59 boards to Miami’s 50. Often the team that out rebounds the other is the best position to win, but this was one of the rare instances where that statistic is exaggerated.

What was even more surprising was that Miami locked down the Wizards’ shooting, holding them to 38% from the field, a terrible 19% from three point range and just 68% from the charity stripe.

Miami on the other hand shot 50% from the field and a hugely encouraging 91% from the line, their best of the season.

If there were ever a greater example of statistics lying, it were this match.
