LeBron James looked fresh and ready. Dwight Howard looked the complete opposite. Sunday night’s first and only official pre season game was surprisingly packed with eye opening plays and at times decent defense. Many expect the NBA to begin how the NFL, defenceless. LeBron James’ newest business operation is a clothing and accessory store called UNKNWN. James plans on opening other stores around the country but the first was opened a few days ago in Miami’s up scale Aventura Mall. The contents of the store matches the allure of the mall, providing brands such as Marc Jacbos and Original Fake whilst also sticking true to his sporting side with Nike, Jordan and Converse. UNKNWN will also sell numerous accessories such as Kidrobot and Beats by Dre.  

I know it’s a ridiculous title and something that shouldn’t even be contemplated, but there isn’t really any other way to say it. A former pilot of California’s Crystal Air Aviation, a company that flies many celebrities in their private jets, has come forward and admitted huge problems with the aircraft the company uses and that many celebrities, including LeBron James, have been at risk to their faults. The Miami Heat opened up their annual black vs red pre season scrimmage to the public on Thursday, giving everyone a good opportunity to see how the team has progressed over the summer. The longest, shortest saga in the history of the NBA is finally over. The past three weeks or so have seemed like three years, and have been largely unprecedented in the game’s history. Never before have we seen the NBA rescind a completed trade, condemning three teams to the unenviable situation of explaining their intentions to their attempted trade pieces who end up remaining with their respective teams. The Heat held their annual pre season media day today and LeBron James reiterated the ideals he has stressed throughout the off season. In one of the most incredible few hours in recent memory, Chris Paul was the centre piece of a three team trade that included several top line players which was ultimately vetoed by the NBA. The trade that had been agreed in principle essentially meant Chris Paul would join the Lakers, Gasol would move to Houston and New Orleans would receive Lamar Odom, Kevin Martin, Goran Dragic and Luis Scola along with a first round pick Houston obtained from the Knicks.
