LeBron James looked fresh and ready. Dwight Howard looked the complete opposite. Sunday night’s first and only official pre season game was surprisingly packed with eye opening plays and at times decent defense. Many expect the NBA to begin how the NFL, defenceless. James finished with 19 points on 9/14 shooting in about 26 minutes of game time. Wade and Bosh both had 14. Terrel Harris, who is hoping to make the final Heat roster, was largely impressive in his 27 minutes, adding 16 points. The undrafted rookie out of Oklahoma State is a lengthy 6’5 guard who could give [...]
LeBron James’ newest business operation is a clothing and accessory store called UNKNWN. James plans on opening other stores around the country but the first was opened a few days ago in Miami’s up scale Aventura Mall. The contents of the store matches the allure of the mall, providing brands such as Marc Jacbos and Original Fake whilst also sticking true to his sporting side with Nike, Jordan and Converse. UNKNWN will also sell numerous accessories such as Kidrobot and Beats by Dre.
I know it’s a ridiculous title and something that shouldn’t even be contemplated, but there isn’t really any other way to say it. A former pilot of California’s Crystal Air Aviation, a company that flies many celebrities in their private jets, has come forward and admitted huge problems with the aircraft the company uses and that many celebrities, including LeBron James, have been at risk to their faults. George Thomsen, a now retired pilot, left the company just 6 weeks after he began work with them and immediately sent his findings to the FAA. My whole career of 42 years [...]
The Miami Heat opened up their annual black vs red pre season scrimmage to the public on Thursday, giving everyone a good opportunity to see how the team has progressed over the summer. Chris Bosh is looking bigger and most intimidating in the post. Dexter Pittman has gotten into shape and could be useful for the Heat. Norris Cole, Miami’s first round pick, could very well start the season at the 1 for the Heat. What most people wanted to see however was the state of LeBron James’ post game. He has been criticised in the past for not using [...]
Chris Paul Traded to the Los Angeles Clippers
The longest, shortest saga in the history of the NBA is finally over. The past three weeks or so have seemed like three years, and have been largely unprecedented in the game’s history. Never before have we seen the NBA rescind a completed trade, condemning three teams to the unenviable situation of explaining their intentions to their attempted trade pieces who end up remaining with their respective teams. This situation got so bad that Lamar Odom felt he could no longer remain with the Lakers, and requested a trade which was granted to Dallas. Nonetheless the Hornets and the NBA [...]
Forget big markets and championship contenders, that is now out the window. From now these big market and championship contenders won’t be looking just to bring in the best talent to their franchises, rather they will be weighing up the Kardashian the player is bringing with them. Kim Kardashian is now single, meaning the entirety of the NBA is fair game and it won’t be long before she’s recorded another notch on her pretty wide belt. Dallas acted too rationally and forgot to take all of this into account. It is now too late. When the Lakers pulled the trigger [...]
Chris Paul and Dwight Howard NBA Trade Rumours
So by now we are all somewhat up to date with or at least aware of the two biggest off the field news stories in North American professional sport. The tug of war between the NBA and Los Angeles over Chris Paul, and the never-ending contradictory and hypocrisy of Dwight Howard. Chris Paul was Craigslist looking for short term apartments in downtown LA about a week ago following the news of his three team trade to his ideal destination of the Lakers. Quickly the league shut down his WIFI and sent him back to his humble abode in New Orleans, [...]
The Heat held their annual pre season media day today and LeBron James reiterated the ideals he has stressed throughout the off season. James was highly criticised and scrutinised following his less than lacklustre Finals performances that completely overshadowed his incredible playoff series’ against the Celtics and Bulls. James has picked up a few more negative nicknames over the summer and has been the butt of all too many jokes. 2010/2011 LeBron James would have acted out in anger, taken it as nothing but an insult and responded in a way that he never used to. He has promised that [...]
Dan Gilbert, who I like to refer to as ‘Mr Comic Sans’, is quickly becoming the most disliked owner in American sports. Whilst Al Davis used to ruffle feathers with his unrelenting, hard nose attitude amongst other traits, Gilbert has has based his nation wide distaste on his bitterness, his hypocrisies, nonsensical whinging and unconscionable ignorance. His infamous letter to the fans of his Cavaliers following LeBron James’ departure last summer not only made him look extremely immature, but it was so stupid it managed to take focus off the monstrosity that was The Decision. Since then there have been [...]
In one of the most incredible few hours in recent memory, Chris Paul was the centre piece of a three team trade that included several top line players which was ultimately vetoed by the NBA. The trade that had been agreed in principle essentially meant Chris Paul would join the Lakers, Gasol would move to Houston and New Orleans would receive Lamar Odom, Kevin Martin, Goran Dragic and Luis Scola along with a first round pick Houston obtained from the Knicks. The winner of the trade is really up to opinion. The deal was supposed to have been done and [...]
