LeBron James has certainly caused a decent amount of controversy throughout the course of his professional career over his choice of professional teams.
His well documented appearance at a Cleveland Indians-Yankees game during his Cleveland days became headline news because James showed up in a Yankees hat.
He raised eye brows supporting the Cowboys when they played the Browns and people really began to question his motives in supporting teams that he had no real association to.
I do not know why James supports the Cowboys, nor the Yankees.
Perhaps he was preparing himself for the hate he was going to receive on the day he left the Cavaliers far behind.
Nonetheless you cannot argue his true devotion to both of these teams, constantly travelling around the country supporting both, despite the obvious flack from the media and the public as a result of doing so.
Cowboys troubled star wide receiver, Dez Bryant, highlighted James in an interview following their dismantling of the Bills on Sunday, identifying him as a true fan and admitting the team has a lot of respect for him in being one.
“I know LeBron’s a big Cowboys fan. When we played St. Louis I did the little powder thing when I scored the touchdown. That was just a shout-out to him, to let him know that we appreciate him being a true Dallas Cowboys fan.”
He is not the first player to emulate James’ famous (or now infamous?) powder toss.
Remember Santonio Holmes making that ridiculous full stretch, tippie toes grab in the Superbowl for the Steelers? Well after that he celebrated in the only way fitting of a Superbowl winning catch:
Dez Bryant and LeBron James, man those two could make some headlines. More importantly those two could make some plays.
