Happy Endings Makes Fun of LeBron James
OK so I have no idea what the show Happy Endings is and from the first 15 seconds of my viewing experience I will happily say I won’t be watching again. Dan Fogarty over at Sports Grid wrote a pretty funny article about it, so I don’t want to harp from his story too much but I thought I’d show you guys the video anyway. I can’t remember where I have seen the blonde chick from, but to me it looks like some crappier (if possible) version of How I Met Your Mother, without the laughing machine but still with [...]
OHHHHHH MYYYYYYY GODDDDDDD I have never thought I would say these words but I cannot express how much I HOPE THERE IS A PROLONGED LOCKOUT News has emerged today that the NBA’s greatest players are planning a two week, six game world tour stopping off in four countries. The countries that will host games will be Puerto Rico, London, Macau, and……….drum roll………..AUSTRALIA!!! Oh my god I can’t believe this. Incase you haven’t figured out by now I am Australian and I have never seen an NBA game nor even been to the USA. But finally the NBA and the USA [...]
Magic Johnson Hypocrisy on LeBron James
I was reading a fantastic article by Rohan Cryuff over at SB Nation and he managed to find a killer old article regarding Magic Johnson. I don’t want to pull at Cryuff’s coat tails too hard nor do I want to rehash what he said, but I want to show you the old excerpt he found. Give [him] the ball, a few fleet teammates, a little adrenaline, and he’s off, running. He “just wants to have fun.” That’s all well and good, and for most of the NBA season it’s a productive attitude, one that pleases fans. He has his [...]
When LeBron James announced he was leaving Cleveland on live international TV, it upset a few people. By a few people I mean all of Ohio, most of Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, New Jersey and pretty much the rest of the country. I am sure the feeling was reciprocated around the world. It certainly was here in Australia. Over the following 15 months or so James has emerged as the most talked about but probably the most despised athlete on the planet. Players have had unconscionable accusations pinned on them, served prison time, committed various social and morale disgraces, [...]
Magic Johnson Insults LeBron James
In a truly astonishing outburst, Magic Johnson has gone on an incredible rant mocking LeBron James. Johnson is always very calm and collected when on TV, and has always been a supporter of LeBron, but the comments he made recently during a speech at the University of Albany have stunned the world. Magic was asked what he wanted his legacy to be in the NBA. That began the onslaught. “There’s going to always be great players in basketball. There’s going to always be guys who win championships in the NBA – except LeBron.” Supposedly the first shot drew mixed receptions [...]
LeBron James Misses the Cleveland Fans
Seemingly looking to kill time before the huge Manchester United – Liverpool clash he was blessed enough to witness on Saturday night, LeBron James was answering a whole bunch of questions via twitter. One snuck through the cracks a little too easily and I am surprised more has not been made of this. RT @_celestial: @kingjames Hey LeBron, what’s one thing people don’t know about you? (how much I miss my fans in Ohio/Cleveland) I was out and rather drunk at the time, but it still drew in my very limited attentions. The majority of people out there see LeBron [...]
LeBron James Donates $10,000 to Liverpool FC Foundation
Say what you will about LeBron James, but few can argue his commitment to charity. Better known for his work with The Boys and Girls Club of America, his reading challenges and bike a thons, LeBron James’ first visit to Liverpool saw him spend time with local children with severe physical or mental disabilities. While at St Margaret’s School, which is the club’s Respect 4 All centre, James made the $10,000 donation. The centre hosts football coaching sessions with the disadvantages children and is currently oversubscribed. James’ donation has kick-started a fundraising campaign to open a second centre in north [...]
LeBron James Touring Liverpool’s Anfield
LeBron James is in England, in what could be his first trip to the country outside of Nike commitments. James became a minority owner of Liverpool in April this year, and because of the NBA lockout has found a window to attend a game. He picked Liverpool vs Manchester United. Not a bad first game to see. James has kept everyone involved through twitter, giving us a look at his tour around Liverpool’s world famous ground Anfield. LeBron’s lunch at the Liverpool Training Complex. Very classy napkins. The pool at Liverpool’s training facility. (Interestingly at Manchester United’s training complex their [...]
Rodman admitted recently that other than at training and during games, he never spoke with his legendary teammates Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. Pippen came out with sensational claims, as he has become infamous for doing recently, saying he never had a conversation with Rodman. “I’ve never had a conversation with Dennis. I’ve never had a conversation with Dennis in my life, so I don’t think it’s anything new.” Rather puzzling considering they were both present at each other’s Hall of Fame ceremonies, and both were present at Michael Jordan’s Hall of Fame ceremony, in which I believe they were [...]
For some reason it has now become customary for reporters to ask each superstar around the league whether they would take LeBron James in the clutch over one of their teammates. Amare Stoudemire was the most recent. “I’m going Carmelo Anthony, baby. Carmelo is definitely known for making those last-second shots. Comes down to the last few minutes of a game, you want to have Carmelo on your team. LeBron is a great facillitator and ultimate team player.” Carmelo is pretty widely considered one of the top, if not the top, clutch player in the NBA. I am not a [...]
