LeBron James and Supposed Father in Paternity Lawsuit

AUTHOR: | IN: LeBron James | COMMENTS: None Yet

This caught me well by surprise but a judge ruled in favour of LeBron James today in a paternity lawsuit involving a man named Leceister Bryce Stovell. Stovell claims to have had a relationship with Gloria James, LeBron’s mother, in 1984 and believes he is entitled to millions of dollars due to damages. The damages he described consisted of things like ‘affection and love’, and that James said publicly he ‘wished to be a better father than his own’. Yes, that was Stovell’s grounds. He represented himself, and I can’t help but think of the image of Homer Simpson representing [...]

Bill Simmons Thinks A Little Too Much of Himself

AUTHOR: | IN: LeBron James | COMMENTS: None Yet

I know the guy has a cult following and is probably one of the most liked media figures in the USA. Maybe not? I don’t really know I do not live there nor have I ever, but I know he is fairly well liked within his media. Nonetheless the guy seems to think because people like his somewhat original method of conveying his point through a series of rich and comedic imagery and parallels to identify and describe even the most black and white issues, that he is able to express personal dislikes by disguising them within these very forms [...]

LeBron James Caught Playing Park Football With Complete Strangers

AUTHOR: | IN: LeBron James | COMMENTS: None Yet

Having a read through Slam Online just now and found a pretty cool little piece and photo sent in by a NYC resident. Apparently this guy and a big group of friends were playing flag football somewhere in NYC, presumably Central Park, and LeBron James happened to be walking by. James apparently walked into the game and over to one of the teams who were in the middle of a break and asked if they were finished. Of course they said no and asked him to join in and apparently he made quite the impression. The man who reported this’ [...]

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade Have Humorous Twitter War

AUTHOR: | IN: LeBron James | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Big 2 of the Miami Heat, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James have had a very public and highly entertaining twitter war over the past fortnight. It is pretty widely known that the two are best friends and have been since they entered the league together in 2003. It is a nice change to see a story about the two about a non basketball related off the court issue, rather than some regurgitated bullshit on how they can’t coexist, how one is Batman one is Robin and yadda yadda yadda…no one wants to see, hear or read any more of [...]

Serena Williams and United States of America Embarrass Themselves

AUTHOR: | IN: LeBron James | COMMENTS: None Yet

I am writing this in response and in anger towards the majority of people who have reacted in a similar way to Serena Williams and how she lost the US Open Women’s Final on Sunday night. For those who don’t even know who won the match, which is probably a lot of you, it was Samantha Stosur, Australia’s top ranked women’s player and the first Australian woman to win a grand slam in around 31 years. Yet none of this has been attributed or celebrated because of the arrogance and ignorance of the American media and to an extent the [...]

The Most Incredible Opening Week in NFL History

AUTHOR: | IN: LeBron James | COMMENTS: None Yet

Remember the NFL Lockout? Me neither. The NFL kicked off it’s season in the such a way that you would be forgiven for thinking it was a dream. We saw high scoring, big defensive plays, incredible passes, power running, clutch plays, ballsy coaching and last second game winning opportunities. And that was just in Thursday night’s opener in Green Bay. I was so excited for the start of the season I stayed up until 6am (Australian time) watching the Ravens remarkably demolish the Steelers. Rodgers and Brees battled it out to for the label as the third best quarterback in [...]

9/11

AUTHOR: | IN: LeBron James | COMMENTS: None Yet

On this most reflective of days I wanted to take the opportunity to wish a safe and humble day of remembrance and mourning for all those affected by or involved with the horrible attacks that occurred on this day 10 years ago. I was only 10 years old at the time but I still remember it as if it were yesterday. The attacks occurred around midnight here in Australia and upon waking up for school the next morning I was strangely aware the world had changed forever. Whilst I was much too young and naive to understand it all, it [...]

Nnamdi Asomugha is the Personification of Why the NFL is Better than the NBA

AUTHOR: | IN: LeBron James | COMMENTS: None Yet

Whilst the NBA is in the midst of what could be a prolonged and plaguing lockout, the NFL has emerged from it’s with such success that no one can even remember the 132 football-less days. Last night’s Packers vs Saints season opener was the perfect way to open the season. Not so much if you enjoy low scoring, defensive grinds but both teams put on a spectacle that came down to the very last play of the game. I have no idea why they tried to ram it in with a rookie with 11 Packers in the box and Drew [...]

LeBron James Reaches Out to Miami Heat’s First Round Pick, Point Guard Norris Cole

AUTHOR: | IN: LeBron James | COMMENTS: None Yet

You can question ‘The Decision’, you can question his sportsmanship when walking off the court in Orlando in 2009 and you can question his ‘self proclaimed nicknames’, but one thing you cannot question is LeBron James’ leadership. I still remember to this day in the 2007 Eastern Conference Finals in the potential close out Game 6 in Cleveland when Detroit were putting up a serious fight and clamping down on LeBron James in an effort to stop a repeat of his 48 point massacre in Game 5. During a timeout in the third quarter James, just 22 years of age [...]

LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh to Train For First Time Since Finals Loss

AUTHOR: | IN: LeBron James | COMMENTS: None Yet

Much like the NFL experienced during it’s lockout, it seems NBA players are beginning to consider taking it upon themselves to ensure they stay in shape and are ready at any moment for the lockout to be lifted. Chris Bosh recently spoke out about a reuniting of the game’s most controversial threesome and the heartache of losing the Finals. “We’re going to make some plans. We’re going to plan to do something. I think just getting around each other, I think it’s important as far as team-building is concerned and just getting something going. We’re pretty much still in the process [...]
