Nate Burleson Chucks LeBron James Chalk In Cleveland

by LeBron James

Nate Burleson caused a slight stir in the Lions vs Browns pre season game the other night.

After making a truly spectacular TD grab from Stafford (great/strange to see him healthy) Burleson seemingly wanted to rub it into the crowd as much as he could.

“It was a LeBron thing. I wasn’t going to do it. See, I had a plan. I had two celebrations planned. I was going to catch the ball, get up, do the shot by Jordan and the three pumps. I’ve got it all down. I’ve seen it like a million times.

“But then when I got in the end zone, I was waiting for the ref, and then when I looked at the crowd, the Dawg Pound went crazy. They were cussing me out, talking about my momma, so I was like forget that. Where’s the powder at. Voom.”

Pre season games garner very little attention normally, only that because of the lockout the pre season games are being seen as an oasis you find when lost in a desert, despite the fact we didn’t miss any games. We saw Santonio Holmes do the same celebration when he made that Superbowl winning catch in the Steelers championship of 09, but he did it out of love, not out of retaliation as claimed by Burleson.

Nonetheless here is the video of the TD and just after you will quickly see the celebration. Personally I can’t see how he had enough time to think about it, react to the crowd and change his mind to doing the powder toss, but whatever helps him sleep at night.
