While the Cleveland Cavaliers may feel like there are other pivotal games in their schedule than the Miami Heat matchup, the only nationally televised sparring match the Cavaliers have this season, the bout against LeBron is their most important. Why? Fans are waiting for the franchise to prove that they can fair well enough without LeBron to beat him while he is in his prime. Last year will not be counted against the Heat for the simple reason that they were not experienced enough as a unit to combat Cleveland’s rare surge more towards the end of the season.
To be frank, the Cavaliers just played with way more heart that night. Since no one will readily admit the facts, Cleveland must stand firm against the challenge again with fresher legs and approaches. Miami will not be facing the exact same lineup of men they demolished in their first matchup since ‘The Decision’ last season. They would have all made changes to their roster towards a common goal: Success. While Miami seems much more apt to achieve their goals, the Cavaliers must prove that they belong on the same court.
Unfortunately for us fans, we may never get to see what this matchup may bring.
