It was by far the biggest regular season game so far for both these teams. The media, the fans, most of the players and coaches have fairly unanimously agreed that Derrick Rose is the MVP of the 2010/2011 season. Rose has led his Bulls to the top record in the East, the first time the Chicago have done this since the retirement of the great one. Dwyane Wade returned, Chris Bosh was arguably Miami’s best on the night and LeBron James played third fiddle to the other members of the big 3. Which one was a lie. Neither. As an avid LeBron James fan and an avid soccer fan, this was a match made in heaven. Only one problem for me personally, I am an avid Arsenal fan. I read an article on ESPN earlier this week discussing whether it had been LeBron’s most efficient season. ESPN quoted James as saying he believed it was, which led them to throwing out a large number of statistics at us trying to decipher whether it was indeed his most efficient year. Miami fans collectively held their breath Sunday night as Dwyane Wade came down hard and limped off the court, something they have seen so many times before. Wade has struggled with injuries throughout the course of his career and again found himself back in the locker room prematurely. Minnesota stuck with their more favoured opponents through the first 2 and a half quarters before their usually trustworthy rebounding let them down. The number that jumped out to me was the T’Wolves getting blown out 46-31 on the boards, with Kevin Love only managing 7 rebounds, which is just the 12th time this season he has failed to hit double figures.
