Miami hold off sparking Crawford performance to beat the Wizards in Washington

AUTHOR: | IN: LeBron James | COMMENTS: None Yet

It didn’t quite have the build up of their previous match, but the aggression on the court by the players made it seem like Miami had wronged Washington, with a series of scuffles, hard fouls, huge blocks and facial slams. James led the way for Miami with 35 points 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Jordan Crawford, who we all remember from that infamous LeBron James Nike Summer Camp where he supposedly dunked on James, although as we saw when the video was leaked it was not the case, went off for a career high 37 points, keeping the game interesting [...]

A Triple Double from LeBron James isn’t enough for Miami to beat the underhanded Cavaliers in part 2 of his return

AUTHOR: | IN: LeBron James | COMMENTS: None Yet

LeBron returned, he saw, he conquered, he had a triple double…………….but Miami lost? To the Cavaliers? Wait the bottom of the league Cavaliers? In a game that truly meant a lot to each team? That was lame, but it did happen. The Cavaliers caught Miami off guard at one point jumping out to an astonishing 23 point lead before in true Cavalier style they let it all go. Ahhh it led me back to the vintage Cavaliers headlined by Miami’s LeBron James, where the Cavaliers would put up overwhelming half time leads, most of the time in the playoffs, only [...]

LeBron James returns to Cleveland…again

AUTHOR: | IN: LeBron James | COMMENTS: None Yet

Tuesday night marks the second installment of the LeBron James homecoming. Unlike part 1, this game has not dominated the nation so much that it was almost impossible to find a channel not talking about it. I even saw Nickelodeon make mention to it. Crazy right? We all witnessed and remember the last game vividly, and if you were unlucky enough to miss it then basically you need to picture the person you hate the most in the world standing right in front of you ready to accept whatever you have to say to them. Then imagine you are surrounded [...]

Miami’s Big 3 combine for a record tally as the Heat outlast Houston 125-119

AUTHOR: | IN: LeBron James | COMMENTS: None Yet

Before they had even played a game together, the promise of nights like last night sent a wave of fear throughout the NBA. Tonight their fears were realised as we saw the most dominant performance of the Big 3′s short history, and perhaps the most dominant performance by a Big 3 for 50 years. For that was the record these three broke last night. Not since 1961 had the NBA seen such a performance. February 2, 1961 Oscar Robertson, Wayne Embry and Jack Twyman each recorded at least 30 points and at least 10 rebounds. On the 28th of March [...]

Miami Heat First Round Playoff Preview: Philadelphia 76ers

AUTHOR: | IN: LeBron James | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

I’ve decided to run a series of posts upon the Heat’s likely playoff opponents, starting with the first round. With just over 10 games remaining in the season, the picture is becoming a little clearer as to who will be playing who, at least in Miami’s case. Currently the Heat sit 3rd in the East, tied with wins for Boston but having lost one more game. Boston’s poor run of recent form combined with Miami’s 7 wins from their past 8 games has seen the Heat back in the chase for a top 2 seed, with Chicago having all but [...]

Dwyane Wade and LeBron James inspire Miami over likely first round rivals Philadelphia

AUTHOR: | IN: LeBron James | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

In a possible and increasingly likely first round playoff match up, the Heat and 76ers went at it last night in Miami, producing a game worthy of an all star spectacle. The energy and pace of the game has clearly shifted up and we are now starting to see how teams will be running come the business end of the season. That is most evident in the play of Dwyane Wade and LeBron James. The two perennial all stars have elevated their games to their pre-Big 3 days over the past three weeks, spelling trouble for their fellow challengers for [...]

Miami Heat survive the Detroit Pistons

AUTHOR: | IN: LeBron James | COMMENTS: None Yet

A spirited show from one of the less spirited teams in the league wasn’t enough as Miami continued their late season surge with a tough win in the Palace of Auburn Hills. Wade top scored with 24 points, James added 19 points 8 assists and 7 rebounds. Miami had a lapse defensively throughout the majority of the game, failing to pick up shooters like Prince and Hamilton, who had a game high 27 points. Chalmer’s defense was clearly missed as the Pistons guards had a field day on Mike Bibby, notably Rodney Stuckey who put Bosh in yet another poster. [...]

Mario Chalmers; good riddance or shall be missed?

AUTHOR: | IN: LeBron James | COMMENTS: 4 Comments

Chalmers has had a rough couple of days, banging heads and knees with opposing players, the latter of which forcing him out for at least the next 2 weeks. I made the call at the beginning of the season that Chalmers would ultimately become Miami’s Rondo, different styles but very similar value and effect as he was the perfect point guard for the Heat, sound defensively and a dangerous outside shooter. I may have stretched a little with that statement, or perhaps he needs a little more time to gel, either way it hasn’t happened yet. In fact other than [...]

Does anyone actually like the Miami Heat commentators?

AUTHOR: | IN: LeBron James | COMMENTS: 5 Comments

I don’t want to come across as disrespectful or rude. I’m sure they are lovely people and I am not questioning their knowledge of the game, there are much worse basketball minds that manage to get a job calling games. However does anyone actually enjoy listening to the Miami Heat commentators? Eric Reid and Tony Fiorentino. Reid has been a play by play caller majority of his life, working his way through college games and into the Heat family in the franchise’s inaugural season. Fiorentino has served as a scout and assistant coach for the Miami Heat before joining Reid [...]

Miami Heat beat the Denver Nuggets via 65 from Wade and LeBron

AUTHOR: | IN: LeBron James | COMMENTS: None Yet

It is good to see the Heat starting to put some consistent performances back to back, especially against playoff quality opposition. Following up their blowout of Atlanta two nights ago, Miami hosted the red hot, new look Nuggets and matched their firepower…and then some. Wade and James combined for 23 points in just the first quarter, setting the tone for the rest of the game just as they did against Atlanta. From then on, just as it was in Atlanta, it was the LeBron James and Dwyane Wade show, with highlight after highlight including two trademark LeBron James tomahawks that [...]
