Happy New Year
It’s 10:50 am here in Australia, wanted to wish you all a happy new year. Been a very rough year if you’re a Cavalier or LeBron fan so it’s good to put all this behind us and get ready for a big 2011. If you’re a Cavs fan let’s hope we get that first pick and start building again. If you’re a Heat fan let’s hope they go all the way. If you’re a LeBron fan let’s hope he can start cutting into Kobe’s championship lead and also that people start to get off his back about the mistakes he’s [...]
No.3 lifts Heat to 10 Straight
On the back of a stellar 45 points from Dwyane Wade, Miami have recorded the 10th consecutive away win downing the Rockets in a high scoring affair. LeBron had a mediocre 20 points 9 assists and 6 rebounds, but little else was required of him considering how well Flash was playing. The Heat gave up the most amount of points they had all season, despite playing rather well on the defensive end of the court. The second and fourth quarters had the Rockets pouring in 69 points together, where most of the bleeding came from. That was the majority of [...]
Still on about the decision
Following the Lakers game a lot of people have been talking about LeBron the person and LeBron the legacy. Articles have been written, comments made and the general discussion that was left in the wake of the Heat’s destruction of LA in LA rather than praise over the performance of LeBron and his team. People haven’t really stopped talking about the decision and how LeBron blah blah blah I’m not going to repeat it all again because personally I’m sick and tired of it. But the fact people are still talking about it is starting to annoy me. It’s been [...]
Cmon LeBron
James came under a fair amount of fire around the league a few days ago when he expressed his feelings over the possibility of the league contracting and losing teams leaving the standard of quality amongst each team becoming much higher. “Imagine if you could take Kevin Love off Minnesota and add him to another team and you shrink the league,” James said Thursday. “Looking at some of the teams that aren’t that great, you take Brook Lopez or you take Devin Harris off these teams that aren’t that good right now and you add him to a team that [...]
LeBron and co. play Grinch again
For the second consecutive year LeBron James has spoilt the Christmas for Los Angeles and their Lakers, as the Heat made the champs look like chumps in a 96-80 demolition. It was as good a defensive performance as we have seen in some time, holding the Lakers on Christmas Day in Staples to just 80 points, whilst keeping Kobe well below 50% from the field. James finished with his 31st regular season triple double with 27 points 11 rebounds and 10 assists. James also gave nothing away on the defensive end with 4 steals. He also shot 5/6 from three [...]
Merry Christmas
It’s just ticked over to Christmas down here in Australia so I wanted to wish all of our followers a Merry Christmas. Eagerly anticipating Boxing Day for us for both the Heat-Lakers game and also Australia is playing England in cricket, which to us is Baseball to you. Australia vs England in The Ashes (name of the series, a history lesson for another day) is the equivalent of the Yankees playing the Red Sox in the World Series. So again have a Merry Christmas, pretty glad I get to celebrate a few hours earlier than most of you, although I [...]
A solid way to head to LA
The Wade-less Heat headed into the desert and came out with a win last night, securing a little more momentum heading to the Staples Center for the most eagerly anticipated Christmas Day game since Jordan retired. No Wade? No worries for the Heat as LeBron and Bosh were gifted with a little more space to work on the court, combining for 59 points. LeBron had 36 points 6 rebounds 4 assists and 3 steals highlighted by 13/22 shooting and 8/8 at the line. I don’t want to talk overly about the game nor the fact LeBron played most of the [...]
LeBron wants more superteams
James fronted the media before tonight’s match in Arizona vs Pheonix to discuss his feelings on the ideas of contracting the league meaning a higher quality standard of talent. “Hopefully the league can figure out one way where it can go back to the ’80s where you had three or four All-Stars, three or four superstars, three or four Hall of Famers on the same team,” James said. “The league was great. It wasn’t as watered down as it is now”. James, as you will argue, would be somewhat bias in this issue given he made a similar decision himself, [...]
Florida on the improve?
We’ve all seen the Magic’s latest effort to win a title and convince Dwight to re-sign with Orlando, but is it as much of an improvement as we first thought. Without question their offense is substantially better, at least at the more skilled positions, but is it enough to worry LeBron and the Heat. The Arenas deal seemed to be only a matter of time as it had been in the makings since the summer. The Magic knew they needed a high octane scorer at either guard position which would take the load off Dwight and give Nelson another option [...]
The train derails at 12
The 21-5 Mavericks headed into Miami, and left victorious, ending the 12 game win streak of the Heat. Dallas shut down LeBron in the first half who didn’t have a point, first time since late 2007. James finished with 19 points 10 rebounds and 7 assists, but in a losing effort. It was a game built upon runs. Dallas jumped out to a big lead but Wade led a 17-0 run to make it interesting. The fourth quarter the pace slowed and both teams went blow for blow, with Wade, LeBron and Bosh all coming up big for the Heat. [...]
